Mr. Rabbit Must Die

Been busy for awhile.
Some ideas just wouldn’t let go.

1. a tub of mascarpone, 2 egg yolks, 50g icing sugar
2. 2 egg white
3. biscuits / lady fingers
4. 2 shots espresso, 2 shots amaretto
5. chocolate powder / grated chocolate
… see you in 3 hours …

Oh, and poor Mr. Rabbit.

Icecream is Optional, Rum is Imperative

Totally blame Viroj for bringing up the subject of icecream on a hot day.[1]

I don’t usually go to the local supermarket for grocery, preferring to dash into a larger store at the train station on the way home. A few days ago I went to our local EDK to pick up some milk, and ended up with a bottle of Mint Bailey’s.[2]. Today before crossing out all the items on the shopping list [3], I grabbed a bottle of white rum. Who knows what I’ll be bringing back next.

What is the rum for? Oh, this.


Another grill this Sunday, and another plan I came up with: Rum&resin icecream to cool down the heat and wash down the grease. So for this brilliant idea, I bought rum and resin, literally. With a tub of vanilla icecream as an afterthought.

Som’s Rum&Resin Icecream
– 1 shot of Rum
– add Sprite or soda to half a glass
– float a scoop or two of vanilla icecream in the mix
– decorate with resin
– enjoy


[1] How am I going to survive summer if spring is this hot?
[2] Served on the rock after the chicken-wing grill on Sunday. Andrea, Joegen and even Anna (with a dash of cold milk) loved it. The tug-o-war between Andrea’s trying to raise a respectable Schwäbisch kid (with S. beer and all), and my trying to give Anna some Irish influence is on.
[3] This house’s occupants’ shopping lists are gradually merging together. It’s uncanny.
